Celebrating Spring

At last - days are getting longer.

Heavy winter coats and boots are shed--Spring attire and flip flops are soon to be don.

“Boat drinks” and Hawaiian shirts are already being spied around town on warm afternoons.

Snow season moves to mud season, which gives way to spring. I start riding my bike to job sites and find myself catching glimpses of hopeful little crocuses and tulips pushing up through the snow, which soon become full-on blooms and gardens everywhere I look.

Ski season ends--officially, and back-country season kicks in, the town is quiet and peaceful, a time for locals to rejuvenate and prepare for the summer season, and for that I’m so grateful.

My outside “dining room” opens up (really it’s my deck but who’s keeping track?) and as the snow melts, I reacquaint myself with my tabletop.  But more than that, I look forward to reacquainting myself with friends, and yes, maybe I’ll even mix up a boat drink or two.

Welcome to spring in Aspen--the prettiest time of year. (If you don’t take into account, summer, fall and winter!)
